Professional qualification :

Membership or passed finalist status of a recognized professional accountancy body or a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics from a recognized university.

Skills profile:

The candidate should command a high level of analytical skills and proficiency in computer spreadsheet modeling and word processing. Working knowledge of MS ACCESS is an added advantage. The position demands a high level of communication skills, both spoken and written in the English language.

Talent profile:

Financial Analyst's role demands a probing mind and an ability to develop a multi perspective approach to problem analysis. Should be able to manage, analyze and draw inferences from large volumes of data.

Behavioural profile:

Should be a good team player. Positive attitude, committed to team goals and client expectations and friendliness are essential qualities. Professionalism in conduct and highest level of integrity are expected.

Task profile:

In-depth and rigorous financial analysis is a core element of every corporate finance and most strategic management assignments. The scope of financial analysis goes well beyond financial statement analysis and requires the Analyst to diagnose a given set of business problems from a financial perspective. The work tasks also include financial modeling and compiling financial projections. Financial Analysts work in teams guided by a senior business analyst and a consultant. Financial analyst will liaise with client finance and operations middle management and will have the opportunity to interview, interact and make presentations to client senior and corporate management.

Career path:

Financial analysis is the beginning of an exciting career in corporate finance with opportunity to branch out into strategy consulting.The skills developed and applied are those in high demand in the financial services sector and the career mobility will be progressively high. Maximum stay in financial analyst grade is 2 years. Next position is Business Analyst. This could be achieved within a shorter period on performance, which reflects broader problem analysis capability and leadership qualities.

Remuneration and other terms:

Starting salary scale: Rs17,500 per month plus monthly incentive. Three months probation and two year contract thereafter. Salary scale is subject to revision at least once a year.
